The Physics of Heaven #4

A Serial Book Review & Theological Interaction: Part 4
Review of Chapter 3: Vibrating in Harmony With God by Bob Jones [1]

“Both men and women are being given authority of badges and there are six things they have ‘blank checks’ to do: healing, holy confiscation, prayer, petitioning, teaching, and ushering in prosperity.”
—Bob Jones (TPOH, 22)

Introduction
Authors Judy Franklin and Ellyn Davis have constructed this chapter from material garnered from interviews with Bob Jones (1930-2014), one of the Kansas City Prophets who, in association with the Olathe Worship Center of Kansas City’s Metro Vineyard Fellowship, rose to prophetic prominence during the 1980s. It is this reviewer’s intent to critique the prophetic words and thoughts of Bob Jones (not to be confused with the Bob Jones of Bob Jones University) as they appear in this chapter of The Physics of Heaven. During a lifetime of ministry, first within the Vineyard Movement and later independently, Bob Jones is credited to have been one of the most visionary of the Kansas City Prophets. [2]  As indicated by the inclusion of the selected interviews with him in this book, his influence presumably remains worldwide. So we begin with “the coming sound” predicted by the prophet and the prophetic scenario it portends.

A New Pentecost is Coming
Heaven is Vibrating—Power Up!
The opening of the chapter states the prophet’s thesis, and it is that, “God is beginning to ‘breathe’ on His people again to prepare us for a second Pentecost that ‘tunes’ us and brings us into harmony with God.” (TPOH, 21) A later statement from Bob Jones further clarifies that,

We haven’t received Pentecost yet. We received a token 110 years ago [the Azusa Street Revival, 1906-1913]. But we didn’t get the main. We’re preparing for the main Pentecost and millennial power, our priesthood power. We’re being prepared for the priesthood of Melchizedek, and not only to be holy priests but also kings—living stones united together, vibrating together. (TPOH, 25)

So two Pentecosts have passed; the first recorded in Acts chapter 2, and then one that descended from heaven at a “portal” located at Azusa Street in Los Angeles during the years 1906-1913. But neither are considered to be “the main” Pentecost which is yet, perhaps soon, to come. [3] According to Jones, a fuller and more powerful Pentecost is ready to overpower earth. Heaven is vibrating and correspondingly charismatic Christians are vibrating, and the mutual shaking indicates that God is about to dispense a new sound to earth (like the sound and shudders of the tracks and ground when a train approaches in the distance). As exhibited by “signs and wonders” happening within the New Apostolic Reformation, even now, as a later chapter puts it, there’s a Whole Lotta Shaking Going On. (TPOH, 147) God is getting ready to “breathe” the Pentecostal fullness of His ruach (Hebrew for spirit) upon Christians, and the breath of it will smell “like apples.” [4] (TPOH, 23) But the shaking (think of a salt shaker) is about to become worldwide as a greater-than-Pentecost experience is about to descend and be distributed through a network of 328 geographical “portals” between heaven and earth. The portals, funnels or doors number twenty-eight in the New Testament in addition to three-hundred in the Old. So Christians, be on the alert. There’s another more powerful Pentecost vibrating in heaven and the sound of it is about to be jettisoned through various “wormholes” (or shortcuts through space-time) to earth.

Scripture “Seismograph”—Tremors
To establish that heaven is quivering with the expectation that a main Pentecost is about to come, prophet Jones assigns a quantum meaning of “vibration” to the word “trembles” (Hebrew, hared) in Isaiah 66:2. He stated:

Isaiah 66:2 says, “I will look to him who trembles at my word.” The word “trembles” in this verse can be vibration. And everything vibrates. But when we get in harmony with God, everything will vibrate in tune with us. Total authority was given to man. Do you have any idea what everything vibrating in harmony with God would do in the earth? (Emphasis added, TPOH, 27)

Some observations need to be made about Jones’ deductions from Isaiah’s prophecy. True, the root meaning of the verb “tremble” (Hebrew, harad) is “to quake or shake.” [5] But the meaning of “tremble” in Isaiah’s context is far removed from the quantum value Jones assigns to the word (e.g., “everything vibrates”). In context, Isaiah was bemoaning “the hypocritical worship of the people” who “did evil” in Lord’s sight and “chose that in which [He] did not delight” (Isaiah 66:4). [6] They did not fear God (Psalm 36:1; Romans 3:18). In this verse, Isaiah was not talking about quantum vibrations on earth needing to be aligned with heaven’s, but calling upon a faithful minority in Israel to fear, to “tremble” before God’s word and obey it, and this despite the prospect that they would be scorned, mocked and ostracized by the nation’s unfaithful majority (“Your brothers who hate you,” Isaiah 66:5b). (Sound familiar?) All persons do not vibrate. Only those who fear God “tremble” before Him.

Earth is Shaking—Get Converted!
According to the NAR, God’s kingdom will be introduced to earth. At this Pentecost, God will unleash quantum vibrations through individual Christians; namely the “manifest sons of God” who get “synched-up” with the quantum sounds/energy/light happening in heaven now. Children of God who receive the powers of the main Pentecost, we’ll call them “the king’s kids,” will become the mediums through whom God will reign. As Jones prophesied, “We’re going to take authority over everything down here back.” (TPOH, 27) Because of the kingdom authority they are given, these persons will convert the shakings (i.e., negative energy) on earth to synchronize with the vibrating rhythms (i.e., positive energy) of heaven.

Synching—“Love/Dove”
In comparing earth with heaven, Bob Jones refers to the beating of a human heart with its upper (heaven) and lower (earth) chambers. When the two chambers are out of sync the condition is known atrial fibrillation, or “afib” for short. In normal functioning, the heart beats in a rhythm that cardiologists call the sound of, “love/dove . . . love/dove . . . love/dove,” and on and on and on. (Interesting in that the common image of the Holy Spirit that of a dove who distributes love—Matthew 3:16; Romans 5:5.) When the lower and upper chambers fall out of sync, the heart races irregularly, and cardiac even can induce other medical complications like stroke. By either electric shock or medication and as soon as possible, the heart needs to be “converted” back into rhythm. (I know because I have heart issues and have experienced it.)

So the author employs this medical condition to illustrate the dysfunctional relationship between heaven (the upper chamber) and earth (the lower chamber). In the reality in which we live, move and have our being, the lower chamber of earth—with its earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, tornadoes, floods, disease and pestilence—exhibits shaking out of sync with heaven. But when the main Pentecost comes, these negative-earthly shakings will become synchronized with the positive-heavenly vibrations of heaven, and nature will become “good” again (Contrast Genesis 1:31 and 3:17; Isaiah 11:6-9 and Romans 8:18-23). With the geographical distribution of quantum powers at strategic portals through prepared saints over this planet, “the sound” of the coming Pentecost will shock and convert the negative vibrations of earth into harmony with heaven. There will be “love/dove” again. “This “conversion” says Jones, will “bring us back into harmony with our Father.” (TPOH, 27) Thus will be fulfilled the Hermetic-occult maxim, “As above, so below.” [7] But how will we know who these “converters,” the king’s kids, are?

“Shields”—Kingdom Authority
Like policemen, they will wear badges. Jones claims to have received a vision in which God showed him “shields.” He explains:

God recently showed me that shields were being given to different men and women. You know what a shield is, like a badge? You put it over your heart, and the Holy Spirit is giving shields to people to represent authority here on earth. (TPOH, 21)

Jones explains his version of Christian Dominionism (that Christians are Christ’s vicars appointed to rule the earth) signified by God’s gift of badges. He compared shields to,

a blank check and it has the number 341 [not 666] on it. Both men and women are being given the authority of badges and there are six things they have “blank checks” to do: healing, holy confiscation [wealth redistribution?], prayer, petitioning, teaching, and ushering in prosperity. Prosperity will go from one group to another [Beware Wall Street!]. Those who are prepared will have it all there when others need it. (TPOH, 22)

In short, “the sound” will empower Christians, those who have prepared themselves to receive it, to become sovereign saints (perhaps little “gods”) who will engage in kingdom building and policing on earth. The main and coming Pentecost will crown the new royalty with inter dimensional spiritual powers, unite them as sovereign society on earth, and instantly give them ability to speak in five or six languages enabling them to communicate kingdom truth to every nation. (TPOH, 23) But before this can happen, the church needs to prepare for when heaven’s vibrations come down. The body of Christ needs to “get synched,” and now.

The Original Pentecost
Unfulfilled Filling?
With words belittling the first Pentecost (Acts 2:1 ff.) thereby making it necessary for the coming of the main Pentecost, Bob Jones stated, “And again, I don’t believe we’ve received the fullness of Pentecost.” (TPOH, 23) Of course, this position taken by Jones, other leaders in the NAR and the authors in The Physics of Heaven begs the question, what was wrong with the first Pentecost? Somehow was it deficient? For a number of reasons, the claim of a coming “main” Pentecost, one that for all intents and purposes will eclipse the first (Acts 2:1ff.), is unbiblical and therefore unnecessary. The Bible’s language does not confirm this scenario of “the sound.” If heaven is vibrating with an about-to-be-unleashed main Pentecost through church to earth, it is only because some falsely claim it is. But before we give attention to the sufficiency, the role of “kingdom portals” in the NAR prophetic scheme needs to be understood.

Portals, Power and Pentecost
Bob Jones informed his followers that there are 328 “portals” mentioned in the Bible, 28 in the New Testament (Where?) in addition to 300 in the Old (Again, where?). (TPOH, 24) The Discernment Research Group explains that,

This [portal] heresy [espoused by the New Apostolic Reformation] teaches that there are geographic locations on Earth that possess super-spiritual access to the [heavens]. A corollary doctrine teaches that intercessors can open up portals to the heavens by cleansing geographic areas of demonic spirits, including ancestral or territorial powers and principalities.” [8]

Belief in the existence of portals often results from visions where a prophet or prophetess sees an opening in heaven through which a column of light (God’s energy) descends to earth, sometimes accompanied by angels ascending and descending. [9] (Compare Jesus’ words to Nathanael, John 1:51.) Belief in portals is derived from the Bible, or so it is imagined. [10]

Patmos Portal?
To indicate the existence of portals in general (they might be called points of light), places where heaven’s powers will be unleashed to earth, Bob Jones refers to a vision of the Apostle John in particular. A verse in Revelation describes the Apostle’s vision:

After these things I looked, and behold, a door [portal] standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things”. (Emphasis added, Revelation 4:1)

It should be noted that this one verse does not establish the existence of portals on earth. First and obviously, the open door was in heaven. It was not a channel or tunnel between heaven and earth. Second, the purpose of the open door was that “in spirit,” in a visionary state of soul, John would enter heaven to see the sights and hear the sounds of that reality (Revelation 4:2, “behold”; 5:1, “I saw”; 5:11, “I heard”; 6:1, “I saw”; 7:1, “I saw”; etc.). The “door” the Spirit opened for John was for him to see heaven above, not to receive power on earth below. The avenue to heaven was one-way not two-way. There was no “Patmos portal,” at least for the purpose Jones and other NAR’ers propose.

Perhaps a way to understand the concept of portals is to think of New Age locations like Sedona, Arizona, Stonehenge, England, the Pyramids of Egypt, Chichen Itza, Mexico (site of the 2012 threatened Mayan Apocalypse), etc., where paranormal events either have been or are being observed and reported. Like believers in New Age spirituality, the New Apostles envision these geographical places and spaces as entry points (i.e., funnels, doors or portals) through which the sound and breath of the main Pentecost will imaginatively descend to earth. Through this strategic and global network of openings between heaven and earth, the powers of heaven, like invading meteors, will shake this planet. At the first Pentecost there was but one portal (I employ the term only for sake of illustration)—one place, one house, one group of people. But the powers of the main Pentecost will be distributed-channeled through a network of doors all over earth. But God neither commenced nor will consummate His redemptive plan for earth in such a manner.

Kingdom Commencement—God’s Land

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Emphasis added, Jehovah Abraham, Genesis 12:1-3, KJV

Sovereign Selection
There was and is a geographical place (not a “portal”) where God initiated and will conclude His redemptive work in history, and it is the land He promised to Abraham and set aside for it, the Holy Land. [11] God began His great redemptive work on earth when He called Abraham out of Babylon (i.e., a  “pagan portal” of counterfeit spirituality) and gave to him and his descendants the Promised Land (a.k.a. Canaan then and Israel today—Genesis 12:1-3; 15:7). To that chosen place, at the appointed time and through God’s chosen people Messiah came and will return (Genesis 49:8-10, *10; Micah 5:2-5a; Galatians 4:4; Romans 1:3). To and through His chosen people, the Jews, God chose to make Himself known over time in that place. Within the boundaries of that land, the Lord chose Jerusalem as His city and Zion as His holy mount where His Temple was to be built (Deuteronomy 12:5; Zechariah 8:1-3). That Temple, built by Solomon, the Lord filled with His presence (2 Chronicles 5:13b-14).

It was at Bethlehem in Judea, located twelve or so miles south of Jerusalem, that the Lord Jesus entered the world (Matthew 2:1). In Judea He also ministered, was crucified and rose from the dead. From a mount located in Judea across the valley from the Holy City Jesus ascended to Heaven (Acts 1:9, 12).

While the Spirit’s witness to Christ Jesus was, has been and is being extended throughout the world (Acts 1:8), the fullness of the Spirit first entered in the place God chose to begin and establish His redemptive work on earth (Genesis 49:8-10, *10). The first Christians were originally baptized and filled by the Spirit in Jerusalem. All of this and more took and will take place within the boundaries of the Promised Land, the geographical location on this planet which God calls, “My Land” (Jeremiah 2:7). All cultic claims notwithstanding, God did not initiate and will not consummate His redemptive plan in another place on this planet. [12]

Sovereign Singularity
Overall, we can see that the revelation of God’s saving work from heaven to earth exhibits pattern of monotheistic singularity (Ephesians 4:4-6)—one God, who though one in essence, eternally exists (i.e., subsists) in a Trinity of one Father (1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6), one Son (1 Corinthians 8:6: Ephesians 4:5), and one Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:4); one Chosen People, the Jews (Deuteronomy 7:6); one Holy Land (Genesis 17:8); one Holy City (Psalm 87:2-3); one Holy Mount (Psalm 132:13-14); one Temple (2 Chronicles 7:12); all of which typologically and historically point to one Christ who alone is “the door . . . the way, the truth and the life” (Emphasis added, John 10:9; 14:6). Therefore, there are not 328 portals in the Bible, but one port where God commenced and will consummate His redemptive work on earth. Based upon a template of singularity, the Lord commanded the destruction of the various places (portals?) where the Canaanites served their gods (Numbers 33:50-53; Deuteronomy 12:2-4). Because of this paradigm of singularity, the Lord through Moses ordered Israel, “Be careful that you do not offer your burnt offerings in every cultic place you see” (Deuteronomy 12:13). Why did God so mandate? Because YHWH declared through the prophet: “I am the Lord, that is My name; / I will not give My glory to another . . .” (Isaiah 42:8). This whole biblical paradigm belies visionary assertions that there are hundreds of portals or “wormholes” between heaven and earth, between eternity and time, between infinity and finitude, through which God is going to use to funnel heaven’s energy to earth. [13]

Kingdom Continuation—Beyond the Land

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again [from above] he cannot see the kingdom of God. . . . Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and [even] the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [14]
Emphasis added, Jesus to Nicodemus, John 3:3, 5

Pentecost Promised
Through the prophet Ezekiel the Lord promised Israel, “I will put My Spirit within you” (Ezekiel 36:27). John the Baptist and Jesus later confirmed and amplified this prediction and promise (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Acts 1:4-5). During His ministry Jesus promised the Spirit would be abundantly supplied to believers. At the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles we can note what He said.

Jesus’ declaration: “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
John’s interpretation: But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.
Emphasis added, John 7:38-39, KJV

Jesus did not compare the coming of the Holy Spirit to a cistern (Proverbs 5:15), a pool like Bethesda (John 5:2), a well like Jacob’s (John 4:6), a body of water like the Sea of Galilee (John 6:1 ff.), or a river like the Jordan (John 3:23), but to “rivers (plural) of living water,” the supply of which might be likened to the Mississippi River and all its tributaries. Furthermore, John the Baptist prophesied that “He [Jesus] whom God has sent . . . gives the Spirit without measure” (John 3:34). Thus Jesus predicted the coming Age of the Spirit. But based upon these Scriptures, can we really assume the Lord’s provision of the Spirit is somehow insufficient? With these statements from the Prophet Jesus and John, let’s fast forward to Pentecost . . .

Fulfilled Filling
Of the Spirit’s coming, Luke records that “there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind” (Compare John 3:8), and that the Holy Spirit’s presence both “filled” God’s “waiting room” and the disciples who had gathered there (Acts 2:2, 4). Though Jesus had promised His disciples they would be baptized in/with/by the Holy Spirit (Greek, baptizo, Acts 1:5), Luke records that the original Pentecostals were “filled” (Greek, pimplemi, Acts 2:4) with the Spirit. To describe the later transitional extensions of the Spirit to first the Samaritans, then the Gentiles and finally to John’s disciples at Ephesus, Luke consecutively employs the verbs “received”—Greek, lambano; “fell upon”—Greek, epipipto epi; “poured out”—Greek, ekchuno; and “came upon”—Greek, erchomai epi (See Acts 8:15-17; 10:44-47; 19:6.). Even though he employed the words previously, Luke employed neither the verb “baptized” nor “filled” to describe the transitional extensions of the Spirit’s presence and ministry by the apostles to these groups. The question is, why?

Filled to the Full
The answer is, I believe, to be found in the word which describes the original Pentecost. The word “filled” (pimplemi, a variation of  pleroo) carries the meaning, “to be liberally supplied, to render full, to complete, to fill to the top so that nothing shall be wanting, to fill to the brim.” [15] When we connect the dots between Jesus’ statement which compared the Spirit’s coming to “rivers of living water” (John 7:38) and the John the Baptist’s affirmation that Jesus “gives the Spirit without measure” (John 3:34), the reason for Luke’s choice of “filled” becomes evident (Luke 1:1-4). Jesus sent the fullness of Spirit to the Church. Because He graciously and abundantly bestowed the Comforter, no more of the Spirit needed to be given. There can be no filling beyond full. Do people at banquet tables fill their drinking glasses beyond full? Ever try to fill your car’s gas tank beyond full? If so, do you want highly flammable liquid running all over which one dropped cigarette could ignite? The promise of the Spirit’s coming was “full filled”!

Everyday Filling
That the house and believers at the time of the church’s origin were “filled” with the Holy Spirit puts to flight the insecurity that the original Pentecost was somehow deficient. The Spirit “filled to the brim” those original believers just like He too fills believers today, not for working phenomenal signs and wonders, but for every day Christian living as evidenced by—“speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father” and subjecting ourselves one to another in church, marriage, family and working relationships (Ephesians 5:15-6:9). By the way, the above evidences of spirituality take, as our fleshly nature knows, power; the Holy Spirit’s filling power.

So to say that the first Pentecost distributed insufficient power is to measure the immeasurable and to declare as insufficient the sufficient and continuing fullness of the Spirit given at Pentecost (John 3:34; Acts 2:2, 4). All the scriptural-historical-theological and experiential evidence contradicts the statement, “And again, I don’t believe we’ve received the fullness of Pentecost.” (TPOH, 23) Perhaps it’s true, despite their claims of doing signs and wonders, NAR’ers have not received “the fullness of Pentecost” (Ephesians 5:18), but that’s not because the fullness is unavailable, but because, like many others of us, the fullness is often un-appropriated because it’s reality is un-appreciated.

Kingdom Consummation—Jesus is Coming!

Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. [16]
Emphasis added, Revelation 20:6

One event looms imminently over the course of human history, an event the birth pains engulfing our world indicate, and that is the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. He, not we, will clean up the mess we’re in. That’s why the hope of Jesus’ return is blessed. Paul told Titus that during this “present age” we are to be “looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus” (Titus 2:12-13). Also, the Apostle (contra new apostles) informed the carnal Corinthians, “You are not lacking in any in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Emphasis added, 1 Corinthians 1:7; See also Philippians 3:20-21. Compare 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.). Note: As they were awaiting the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ, they weren’t lacking the Spirit. So why would they (as we) have needed another Pentecost?

Shakings of the Spirit, or Signs of the Son?
On the Mount called Olivet Jesus preached the sermon about His return (Matthew 24:3). After His resurrection, the Lord ascended to heaven from that mount as “two men in white clothing” promised that He would return there (Acts 1:11). And to that mount Zechariah predicted the Messiah will come at the end of the age to save Israel from national extinction (Zechariah 14:4). What is currently playing itself out on earth are not quantum “vibrations” or “shakings” signaling the coming a “main Pentecost” claimed by NAR’ers, but “birth pangs” of the Messiah (i.e., Jesus predicted that as this age draws to its close before He returns, birth pains or “shakings” would increase in frequency and intensity, Matthew 24:8; Compare 1 Thessalonians 5:3 and Romans 8:22.). What must astound students of Bible prophecy is how the NAR hijacks “the signs” Jesus described would indicate His coming and the end of the age and flips them to be signals of “shakings” portending a second coming of the Spirit, and this despite the fact that the Scriptures (which the Spirit inspired, 2 Peter 1:20-21) promise no second advent of the Spirit, only the Second Coming of the Son. (Please read Psalm 2:1-12.) The NAR prophetic-Pentecost scheme audaciously reduces Jesus’ promised return (and reign) to a non-event. Go figure . . . I am certain that NAR’ers may dispute this deduction, but their claims demand such a conclusion.

Kingdom Counterfeit—Charismatic Dominionism
NAR teaching makes the millennium to be sort of a coup d’état in which “the manifest sons of God” usurp Jesus’ authority (Please read Psalm 2:1-12.). Though believers will be revealed and reign with Christ when He returns (Colossians 3:4; Philippians 3:20-21; 2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 5:10; 11:15; 20:4-6), they will neither be revealed separate from Christ’s return to this planet nor reign in His stead!

The Physics of Heaven makes much ado about vibrations taking place in heaven that are being felt by “manifest sons of God” on earth, “shakings” which signal the soon-to-be-released planetary Pentecostal power(s) “10 times” greater than those the church experienced in Acts 2. (TPOH, 25) Heaven’s release of “millennial powers” through the “manifest sons of God” will transform this planet’s negative “shakings” (i.e., the cancer of wars, pestilences, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.) into positive “vibrations,” the effect of which will be to introduce God’s Kingdom and heal the planet from the “groans . . . and pains of childbirth” currently being suffered (Romans 8:22). As Bob Jones stated, the main Pentecost will cause Christians to get “tuned . . . in harmony with God.” (TPOH, 27) And when that happens, he goes on to say, “We’re going to take authority over everything down here back and literally give it back to the Father.” (TPOH, 27) It should be understood that such an imaginary prophetic scenario which now influences so many Christians does not align with the future Scripture predicts and describes. [17]

The New Testament teaches clearly that as the present evil age runs its course and the Day of the Lord or Great Tribulation approaches (this will be the time when in wrath God judges this planet, Matthew 24:3-28; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; 2Thessalonians 2:1-12; Revelation 3:10; etc.), one event, as has been pointed out, looms on the horizon of human history, and it’s not the coming of another Pentecost, but the Parousia, not a second coming of the Spirit, but the Second Coming of the Son, the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth to reign (Matthew 24:3, 29-31; Revelation 20:6). Then after everything becomes subjected to Jesus Christ (“For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet”—1 Corinthians 15:25-28a; Compare Philippians 2:9-10.), He, not “the manifest sons of God,” will return all authority to the Father “so that God may be all in all” (1 Corinthians 15:28b). The consummation of Jesus’ reign over everyone and everything on earth will verify His claim He made to His disciples—“All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth” (Emphasis added, Matthew 28:19). Any authority is not ours to give back to the Father, but Christ’s.

Conclusion
So Jones and other NAR’ers define the doctrine of imminence to refer not to the coming of the Son but to a coming of the Spirit, and they do so despite the biblical teaching that the Spirit is already here (the Son is not) and that His ministry in the economy of the Trinity involves bearing testimony not to Himself, but to Jesus Christ. But in the scenario of a yet-to-come Pentecost, attention shifts away from the “only begotten” Son of God unto soon to be manifested “sons of God.” Thus it can be noted that in this chapter, Vibrating in Harmony with God, the name of “Jesus,” which incidentally is “the name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9), is mentioned once. [18] (TPOH, 24) So in the prophetic scenario The Physics of Heaven proposes, one is forced to ask the question, where in the midst of the excitements about this second-coming-Pentecost is the testimony to the Lord Jesus Christ—ironically, the One to whom the Spirit testifies and the One who is going to return to earth to reign?

When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me.
Jesus, John 15:26

This entry notes that synonyms for harad include the common words for “fear,” pahad and yare (p.322). The meaning of “tremble” should be understood to describe a physical symptom that can accompany genuine fear, even panic, like that of a person who physically manifests “the shakes” after surviving a near-death accident.

[7] Magee explains that Hermetic philosophy (Note: Quantum science is likewise considered to be a philosophy.) views that “everything in the cosmos is internally related, bound up with everything else . . . [that] Divine powers understood variously as “energy” or “light” pervade the whole. This principle is most clearly expressed in the so-called Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus, which begins with the famous lines ‘As above, so below.’ This maxim became the central tenet of Western occultism.” See Glenn Alexander Magee, Hegel and the Hermetic Tradition (Ithaca, NY: Cornell University Press, 2001): 13.

[9] Carol Brooks, “Dominion Theology . . . The Stench and Foul Smell of Joel’s Army, Section IX: Portals,” In Plain Site (http://www.inplainsite.org/html/dt9_portals_to_heaven.html). Brooks’ section on “portals” is informative and worth reading.
[10] The number 328 may be derived from a concordance study of the Bible where despite the context, the word “door” or its like equals portal. Any old door will do.
[11] In the source cited in footnote 8, Brooks makes the point that, “to say that Jerusalem is a ‘portal’ is applying an additional layer of meaning to the significance of the Holy City and is completely unsubstantiated by Scripture.” (Emphasis added) I agree. After calling Abraham out of Babylon, God chose the Holy Land, Judea and Jerusalem as the port where to commence and consummate His redemptive work in history. His choice of one place delivers us from the cultic superstition that there are many or other sacred places and spaces (contra contemplative New Age Religion and New Apostolic Reformation belief) on this planet (See Jesus’ words to the Samaritan woman, John 4:21-24.).
[12] One dictionary states: “Generally speaking, MORMONS refer to the Americas as being Zion on a grand scale. The temple in Jackson County, Missouri, is also called Zion, along with other choice temple areas.” See George A. Mather and Larry A. Nichols, “Zion,” Dictionary of Cults, Sects, Religions and the Occult (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan publishing House, 1993): 328. Mormonism, as do other religions and cults including the Samaritans and the “high places” King Solomon established to honor his wives (1 Kings 11:1-8), advocate “sacred places and spaces” other than those chosen by YHWH. Even Islam has places other than Mecca. As such, they are at variance from the Lord’s establishment of “one” Land, Mount, Temple and Lord. Celebrating other places located in other spaces leads to the idolatry of worshipping other gods exactly as for example, the Canaanites did.
[13] Jones states: “When we vibrate I think it’s opening a portal . . .” Then the NAR prophet goes on to state that portals (328 of them in the Bible) are open “windows or doors” through which heaven comes down and touches earth. (TPOH, 24) He goes on to state that, “When we get in harmony with God . . . there’s no time there.” (TPOH, 27)
[14] Readers should note that one preposition of (Greek, ex) governs both water and Spirit (ex hydatos kai pneumatos). The one preposition signals that Jesus is peaking not about two distinct events (e.g., natural birth and spiritual birth, or water baptism and spiritual birth), but one happening—water/Spirit birth. Throughout John’s Gospel, water is a symbol for the Spirit (i.e., John 7:37-39).
[15] See for example, W.E. Vine, “FILL, FILL-UP,” An Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, by W.E. Vine, Merrill F. Unger and William White, Jr. (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1984): 426.
[16] Bob Jones stated that, “We’re being prepared for the main Pentecost and millennial power, our priesthood power. We’re being prepared for the priesthood of Melchizedek, and not only to be holy priests but also kings—living stones united together, vibrating together.” (TPOH, 25) Again, an outlandish, presumptuous and inconsistent NAR claim can be observed. This verse (Revelation 20:6) says we are going to be “priests of God and of Christ,” not Melchizedek. Furthermore, can it be said of believers, unlike Melchizedek, that they are, “Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God . . . a priest perpetually”? (Hebrews 7:3) As there could only be one priest in Israel to serve as the high priest, so also there was one priest after the order of Melchizedek, the Lord Jesus Christ.
[17] After His resurrection and before His ascension, Jesus Christ was approached by the disciple/apostles who asked Him: “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6) Without debating the details of the time of Jesus’ Second Coming, the End of the Age, and Jesus’ Millennial Reign over earth (Matthew 24:3; 25:34), let it be stated that Jones’ prophetic scenario is Postmillennial with a neo-Pentecostal twist. But the biblical and exegetical data in the Bible support the eschatology of Pre-millennialism (that Christ will return to reign on earth for a 1,000 years—Revelation 20:4-6; Daniel 7:13-14, 27; and much more). Of the eschatological system of Amillennialism it can I think be fairly said that it is correct in what it affirms (that Christ during this age should be ruling in the church, John 3:3, 5), but is wrong in what it denies; namely, that when He returns in the future, Messiah will personally reign on and over the earth (Micah 4:1-5).
[18] Jones said: “Jesus did everything He did as a man, as a God/man . . . But when He ascended on high the Holy Spirit was given to Him and He released it on the day of Pentecost.” (TPOH, 24) Was/is Jesus just “a” God/man, thus allowing for other God/men like the “manifest sons of God”? Furthermore, the Gospels portray that the Holy Spirit fell upon Jesus after His baptism when He was about to commence His public ministry, not after His ascension (See Matthew 3:16). Jesus was endowed fully by the Holy Spirit in His ministry as the debate over the “powers” by which He performed His miracles indicates (Matthew 12:22-32). Furthermore, Jesus endowed His Disciple/Apostles with the Spirit after His resurrection but before His ascension (John 20:22).
